From comes a post about extremophiles here on Earth. The article goes under the somewhat hyperbolic title “Five Creatures That Prove life Could Exist On Other Planets (Or In Space),” but it’s an interesting read nonetheless. They discuss this little critter to the left as well as worms that live “on a slab of methane ice pushing up from the seafloor near the coast of Mexico,” caterpillar-like creatures that can survive long-term exposure to vacuums (one of the top 10 things launched into space in 2008), and iron-eating microbes in Antarctica.
